Set against the backdrop of modern-day womanhood, String of Pearls follows Vine, a sharp, self-aware creative whose long-awaited break falls apart on the morning of her 30th birthday. Fired before noon, she’s forced to confront the ghosts of her twenties—career stumbles, co-parenting realities, and friendship fallouts—while navigating the messy, magical chaos of a life still very much in progress.
With humor, heart, and a touch of nostalgia, the series asks: What would the world look like if women had the same social freedoms as men? And more importantly—would it actually make us happy?
Blending the emotional honesty of shows like I May Destroy You with the joy and chaos of a '90s comedy, String of Pearls is a love letter to reinvention, to sisterhood, and to the beautifully imperfect in-between.
The WORLD needs STRING OF PEARLS
In the midst of our current climate, String of Pearls serves as an anthem for female expression. Prompted by the question "What would society look like if women inherited the same social freedoms as men?" and countered by questioning if that reality would actually make women happy? As the underlying story line explores these broad societal ideologies, the overarching intent is to serve as a breath of fresh air from our current state of times, giving audiences a crossroad between the blissful innocence of cinematic stories from the 90's, and the socio-cultural awarenesses of television's past decade.. blending laugh out loud comedy with profound, thought provoking and emotional moments. Our story doesn't land specifically black, nor specifically for women. It's encompassing of all, beautifully colorless focusing in on the true nuance of life's little moments.

STRING OF PEARLS fills an important position for the 25 - 40 year old demographic, closing a void in comedic series we haven't seen since Insecure, Sex Lives of College Girls, or I May Destroy You.
STRING OF PEARLS has secured $30,000 allowing our project to get off the ground.
Through additional Executive Producers, along with donations from Friends and Family, we're hoping to raise $15,000 to cover daily costs throughout the duration of our shoot and post production.

String of Pearls has garnered attention from multiple producers & directors affiliated with major streaming platforms which has been our driving force to develop our proof of concept. The story has resonated with dozens of talented artists all having agreed to pour hundreds of hours into pre-production alone. With over a year of preparation and a growing team of experienced crew and talent, we're beyond excited to make String of Pearls a reality.
Hadiza Hinish, the pioneering force behind String of Pearls, grew up as a third culture kid in countries across Africa, Europe and North America. Her unique perspective paints a picture rarely seen on screen.. a true representation of our quickly changing world where color and gender no longer dictate the human experience.
To make String of Pearls a reality, we need the support of our community. Donations of any size help, whether its $25, $50, $100 or $250, we appreciate every penny.
We're also seeking additional Executive Producers interested in putting $1,000 into our project
with the a ROI of 200%. Whether we sign a contract to develop more episodes, sell the show as a whole, or just land a decent project from having String of Pearls in our portfolio, we intend to return investments by any means possible. Inherently, none of us know what will come of this project, but we have the backing of 30+ people all in the viewing demographic who read our script and fell in love.. to the extent of investing their time to make String of Pearls reality.
